Police dog Scout made an unusual discovery while searching through undergrowth in Pentwyn, Cardiff, after alerting officers to something hidden beneath the vegetation. His search led police to a concealed satchel containing 97 grams of cannabis and more than £2,200 in cash. The unexpected find highlighted the role police dogs can play in locating items that might otherwise remain hidden.

South Wales Police said the discovery was made during proactive patrols following information about suspected drug dealing in the area. Officers had already recovered five bags containing suspected Class A drugs from nearby undergrowth earlier that same week, increasing concerns about possible criminal activity in the area.

Scout’s discovery quickly attracted attention online, particularly from dog owners who found the story amusing.
