Saw this huge wasp crawling slowly on my curtains inside. It looks groggy and isn’t flying much. Is there a nest inside my walls?

Finding a large wasp crawling inside your home can be alarming, but one wasp does not necessarily mean there is a hidden nest. Wasps can enter through open windows, doors, cracks, vents, or even on clothing and bags, especially toward the end of the warm season.

Paper wasps, in particular, may become sluggish as temperatures drop and food becomes harder to find. A wasp near a curtain or window may simply be resting or trying to find its way back outside rather than coming from a nest inside the walls.

More concerning signs include seeing multiple wasps repeatedly coming from the same crack, vent, roof area, or other opening. Buzzing or rustling sounds inside a wall can also indicate that a nest may be nearby.

If you discover a single wasp, there may be no infestation at all. Still, avoid disturbing a suspected nest, and consider contacting a pest-control professional if you repeatedly see wasps. Sealing cracks, repairing window screens, and keeping doors and windows tightly closed can also help prevent them from entering.READ BELOW
