After 40 years on stage, punk icon Lou Koller has passed away at 59.

Lou Koller, the longtime lead vocalist for the legendary New York hardcore band Sick of It All, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 59.
He died at his home following a two-year battle with esophageal cancer.

Koller co-founded Sick of It All in Queens, New York, in 1986 alongside his brother, guitarist Pete Koller.
Together, they spent nearly four decades as foundational pioneers of the New York hardcore scene.

The group released 12 full-length studio albums and performed thousands of high-energy shows around the world.
Known for his distinctive, powerful vocal delivery, Koller brought immense energy and passion to every stage.

Off stage, he was widely beloved by fans and fellow musicians for his warmth, quick wit, and sarcastic humor.
Throughout his treatment, Koller remained open about his health journey, frequently expressing gratitude to his supporters.
Sick of It All was set to celebrate its milestone 40th anniversary as a band in 2026.
His passing marks the loss of one of punk rock’s most enduring and respected frontmen.
