Every summer morning, my husband dropped our six-year-old son, Luke, off at his 22-year-old babysitter’s house before going to work. One Friday, my husband was sick, so I took Luke instead. As he got out of the car, he looked confused and refused to go inside.
When I asked what was wrong, Luke innocently told me, “Dad always comes inside with me and stays with the sitter for a while while I play alone in the playroom.” His words immediately alarmed me because my husband had always said he left for work right after dropping Luke off.
That evening, I confronted my husband about what Luke had said. At first, he tried to stay silent, but his pale expression said everything. Finally, he admitted he had been having an affair with our son’s babysitter for the past month.
Hearing the truth shattered my trust and ended our marriage. I realized I couldn’t stay with someone who had betrayed both me and our family. The very next day, I filed for divorce, grateful that my son’s innocent honesty revealed the truth before the deception went any further.
