‘Wheel of Fortune’ Player Stuns the Internet by Solving $65K Puzzle in Seconds

A woman from Minnesota left audiences and host Ryan Seacrest in absolute shock when she cracked the Wheel of Fortune Bonus Round puzzle in a flash—ultimately taking home a grand total of $65,650.

Delinda Rood, a resident of Rosemount, Minnesota, competed on the November 4 broadcast against Justin Zamora of Palo Alto, California, and Shateria Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Identifying as an “ambivert”—a blend of extrovert and introvert—Rood experienced a slightly sluggish beginning before delivering one of the quickest solves of the entire evening.

The match began with a missed opportunity, as nobody managed to figure out the initial toss-up, which turned out to be “My Game Face.” However, Rood swiftly regained her balance, hitting the buzzer to solve the second toss-up, “Practical Joker,” and immediately banking her first $2,000.

Zamora, who revealed he had previously popped the question following a grueling seven-hour trek, secured his own victory by figuring out “Candy Girl You Are My World.” That solve netted him $12,549 alongside an all-expenses-paid vacation to Norway. Concurrently, Smith, an entrepreneur and author, captured the highly sought-after One Million Dollar Wedge upon correctly deciphering “Summer & Boot Camp,” which bumped her score up by $1,900.

When Smith faltered on the subsequent puzzle, however, Rood capitalized on the opening. She successfully solved “Spoil Yourself At The Spa” with just a handful of blank spaces left. This triumph awarded her a getaway to Scottsdale, Arizona, and elevated her total earnings to $10,950.

Rood proceeded to command the Triple Toss-Up segment, conquering two of the three challenges, whereas Smith claimed the final one. During the crucial final regular round, Rood secured her position in the Bonus Round by cracking “A Tough Nut To Crack.” At the conclusion of the main game, she had racked up $20,650, leaving Zamora with $12,549 and Smith with $3,900.

Entering the Bonus Round, Rood opted for the “Around the House” category. She was accompanied on stage by her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Molly, as the layout for the final puzzle materialized. Following the display of the default letters R, S, T, L, N, and E, she picked M, V, K, and A as her additions—resulting in the board: _ARM _ _ _LT.

The countdown clock had scarcely begun when Rood boldly announced, “For my mother-in-law, Warm Quilt!”

Presenter Ryan Seacrest was noticeably astounded. “Yeah! Did you know it? Did you know it?” he questioned in sheer disbelief. As Seacrest unsealed the prize envelope, the studio crowd went wild—she had just snagged an extra $45,000, propelling her grand total to a spectacular $65,650.

“You didn’t even have to think about it!” Seacrest remarked with a massive grin.

Rood offered a smile and a nod, confirming, “I knew it!”
.
It was a blistering-fast conclusion that left even veteran Wheel of Fortune enthusiasts applauding—proving that on occasion, sharp instincts (mixed with a bit of family inspiration) can absolutely yield a monumental victory.
