Questions are mounting in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as new details and eyewitness theories suggest the possibility that more than one person may have been involved the night the 84-year-old vanished.

Guthrie, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, has not been seen since early February. Authorities say signs of a violent confrontation were discovered outside her home, fueling concerns that she may have been forcibly taken.

For weeks, Brian Entin has been on the ground in Tucson, speaking with neighbors and tracking developments in the case. His reporting has brought renewed attention to a disturbing theory—one that points to the likelihood of multiple suspects.

In a recent interview, a neighbor identified as Laura shared observations that could reshape how investigators view the timeline. She revealed that law enforcement reviewed footage from her home security cameras, focusing on two dates in January. While officials have not publicly explained the relevance of those specific days, the detail has sparked speculation about whether the suspect—or suspects—may have been surveilling the property in advance.

Laura also questioned whether the intruder seen in previously released video footage ever intended to enter through the front door. According to her, the home is protected by a sturdy metal security gate that would be extremely difficult to breach if secured properly.

Investigators earlier released video showing a masked individual near the front entrance, appearing to carry a firearm. But Laura believes that person may have been playing a different role altogether.

Her theory: the individual outside may have been waiting for someone already inside the residence.

She suggested the possibility that an accomplice could have gained access to the home beforehand, with the person outside acting as backup during the removal of Guthrie. In her view, the suspect at the door may have been positioned to assist once the victim was brought out.

That idea aligns with analysis from Maureen O’Connell, who has also weighed in on the case. O’Connell told reporters that the physical evidence points to the likelihood that Guthrie did not leave the home on her own.

Instead, she believes the victim may have been carried out—an act that would likely require more than one individual, particularly given Guthrie’s age and the signs of a struggle at the scene.

Blood evidence recovered near the entrance has only deepened the mystery, with experts suggesting it may indicate the victim was injured and possibly unconscious when removed.

As the probe moves forward, officials have yet to verify whether more than one suspect was involved. Still, the emerging theories underscore just how complex—and troubling—this case has become.
