A backyard chicken narrowly escaped becoming dinner after getting trapped in the coils of a large python earlier this week.
The incident happened in a rural neighborhood where residents often keep small flocks. According to witnesses, the python had slithered into the yard during the early morning hours and quickly wrapped itself around one of the hens.
