At 62, Jeff Agar underwent open-heart surgery in June 2025, but just months later he returned to competition with his son Johnny, who was born with cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. Their journey began when Jeff started running with Johnny in a stroller, eventually completing 5K races, marathons, and an Ironman 70.3 together. In 2026, despite his recent surgery, Jeff again pushed Johnny through 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling, and 21.1 km of running, until the final meters, when Johnny stood up with his walker and walked alongside his father to the finish line as the crowd cheered them on.
