On his birthday, Ali Çiftçi was at home in İstanbul when he reportedly tried to defend his house from an intruder. During the struggle, both men fell from a third-floor window, with Ali landing beneath the other man. The fall left him with catastrophic injuries, and doctors reportedly determined that approximately 83% of the volume of his skull had been destroyed. His condition was so severe that doctors initially gave him only about a 10% chance of survival.

Ali spent months receiving intensive medical care as he fought to recover from the devastating injuries. After leaving the hospital, his challenges did not end. For nearly two years, he reportedly had to wear a protective hat because much of his skull was exposed and vulnerable. He struggled with serious problems affecting his balance, memory, vision, and speech, making everyday activities extremely difficult.

Eventually, Prof. Dr. Özkan Tehli and his medical team took on the complicated task of reconstructing Ali’s skull. Using custom-designed titanium implants, surgeons were able to rebuild the damaged areas and provide the protection his brain needed. The procedure was an important step in his long recovery and helped restore the physical structure that had been severely damaged in the fall.

Today, the father of two has reportedly experienced dramatic improvement following the reconstruction. According to reports, his symptoms have improved by around 90%, while his appearance has also been restored in a way he once feared might never be possible.
