A 9-year-old boy with an amputated leg became the youngest amputee to climb the three highest mountains in the UK

Nine-year-old Albie-Junior Thomas has completed an extraordinary challenge after climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)—the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales. Albie-Junior, who had his left leg amputated at just 15 months old because of a congenital limb condition, completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in an impressive 22 hours and 30 minutes.

Guided and supported by his father Daniel, a running coach, Albie-Junior covered nearly 23 miles of walking and tackled more than 3,000 meters of elevation. He completed the demanding journey using his blade prosthesis, facing difficult terrain, steep climbs, and slippery descents along the way. During the challenge, simple snacks such as ham and cheese sandwiches and sour candies helped keep him fueled.

This achievement is even more remarkable considering that Albie-Junior has already made his mark in mountain climbing. At just four years old, he reportedly became the youngest amputee to climb Snowdon, demonstrating his determination from an incredibly young age. His latest challenge required endurance, preparation, and plenty of family support, particularly as the weather and terrain made parts of the journey especially demanding.

Now, Albie-Junior and his family are awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records regarding the latest achievement. His long-term dream is even bigger: he hopes to one day compete as a British Paralympic athlete. For now, his journey continues to inspire people by showing how determination, family support, and a willingness to take on difficult challenges can open the door to extraordinary accomplishments
