\nWWE confirmed The Taskmaster\u2019s death early Thursday morning, which led to many people paying tribute to the former World Championship Wrestling star.<\/p>\n
A GoFundMe was set up for the wrestler last month after his daughter Nicole said that he had a \u201cdevastating accident\u201d in May while he was in Florida signing autographs.Nicole wrote on the fundraiser page, \u201cHe had emergency surgery that saved his leg and life, but serious problems followed, including sepsis and encephalitis.\u201d
\n\u201cThis unplanned disaster has put a huge financial strain on Kevin\u2019s family, as he has been in and out of consciousness in the ICU, away from home.\u201d
\n\u201cDespite these problems, Kevin has been incredibly strong. He\u2019s still fighting to get his freedom months later.
\nAlthough the fundraiser is no longer working, it raised more than $54,000 for the family\u2019s medical bills.<\/p>\n
While releasing their statement, WWE called Kevin a \u201cunique and influential figure in sports-entertainment history.\u201dTRIBUTES COME INCelebrities and fans of wrestling are both paying tribute to Sullivan on social media\u201cKevin Sullivan had one of the most unique minds in the history of our industry, pushing creative boundaries and developing some of the most intriguing characters to step into the ring,\u201d X wrote to Triple H.

Best wishes!\u201dNicole posted an update to the GoFundMe on July 15 saying that Sullivan was \u201cregaining a lot of physical strength.\u201d\u201cHe does physical and occupational therapy daily, with the goal and ultimate hope that he regains his independence.\u201d
\nSullivan\u2019s death was announced the day before Flair talked about him in a positive way on X.
